Pleasant Prairie Haunted Houses and Places
Milwaukee Haunted Places >> Pleasant Prairie
Pleasant Prairie was once home to one of the largest blasting powder plants in the nation. It was the 1900’s, OSHA and worker’s rights were nothing more than flittering dreams. Over the years a number of employees lost their limbs and even their lives on the assembly line. Rumor soon spread that the ghosts of deceased employees could be seen haunting Pleasant Prairie; trapped in an endless assembly line, forced to relive their last moments for all eternity. On March 1st, 1911, several plant employees reported seeing ghosts near the magazine which housed 208 tons of dynamite. There wasn’t another ghost sighting and all was quiet in Pleasant Prairie until March 9th, when a thunderous explosion destroyed the DuPont plant and much of the town. The true cause of the explosion is still unknown. Some say you can still see the ghosts of employees working an invisible assembly line on the fields of Pleasant Prairie Ball Park.
